Aparthotels in Şişli — what to know before you book
Şişli has more aparthotels than any other district in Istanbul. Here's how to tell the good ones from the ones that just call themselves apartments.
Search for "aparthotel Şişli" and you'll get back several hundred results. Some are genuine serviced apartments — full kitchens, weekly cleaning, fast WiFi, actual space to live in. Others are small hotel rooms with a microwave bolted to the wall and "apartment" added to the listing title. Knowing the difference before you book saves you a frustrating arrival.
What a real aparthotel has
A proper serviced apartment has a separate kitchen area with at least a two-ring hob, a fridge large enough for a week's groceries, and cookware you can actually use. The bathroom should have a washing machine or access to laundry in the building. The bedroom should be a separate room from the living area — not a sofa bed in the corner of the kitchen.
If any of these are missing, what you're booking is a small hotel room, regardless of what the listing says.
Why Şişli specifically
Şişli is Istanbul's most practical district for stays longer than two nights. It's residential — there's a real neighbourhood around you, with supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, and dry cleaners within walking distance. The metro connects you to the airport in 35 minutes and to Taksim in four. And it's quieter than Beyoğlu without being isolated.
For business travellers, the Şişli-Mecidiyeköy corridor has most of the city's corporate offices. For families, the wide pavements and large parks make it genuinely liveable with children.
Questions to ask before you book
Before confirming any aparthotel in Şişli, ask:
- What floor is the apartment on, and is there a lift?
- What is the WiFi speed? (Ask for a number — "fast" means different things)
- Is there 24-hour check-in or a fixed window?
- What's included in the weekly cleaning — does it include linen change?
- Is the kitchen equipped with cookware, or just appliances?
These questions separate properties that have thought about long-stay guests from those that haven't.
Book direct, not through OTAs
Almost every aparthotel in Şişli is cheaper booked directly than through Booking.com or Airbnb. The platforms charge 15–25% commission, and most properties pass that cost to the guest.
A direct booking also gives you a phone number and a person — useful if your flight is delayed or you need an early check-in. With an OTA booking, any change goes through a customer service queue.
At Hexa, the direct rate is always lower than anything on the OTAs. That's not a marketing claim — the maths only works one way when you remove a 20% commission.
Where Hexa fits in
Hexa has two properties in the area: Hexa Suites in Bomonti and Hexa Apartments in Şişli. Both have full kitchens, separate bedrooms, and weekly cleaning included. Both are a short walk from the M2 metro line.
If you're staying more than three nights, message us on WhatsApp before you book — we can usually offer a rate that isn't listed online, and we'll answer any of the questions above honestly.
